Back on the wrong side of the fence this time for the Walter Hayes Trophy at Silverstone.
An end of season festival for Formula Fords, the Trophy throws up some brilliantly close racing on the national circuit as the drivers fight it out to progress through heats and semi finals into the eventual Trophy final. Lovely sunny but cold weather set the scene for a great weekend.
This year was no exception with the massive entry throwing up action a plenty. Three abreast into brooklands was a common sight as was the occasional incident! The trophy was won once again by Peter Dempsey who held off a strong final including the likes of Wayne Boyd and some american visitors.
